Wildlife & Biodiversity Protection

Biodiversity is important because the simplification of diet, processed foods and poor access to food have led to micro nutrient deficiencies and mal-nutrition. More than half of the world’s GDP is highly or moderately dependent on nature. Natural ecosystems provide essential services such as pollination, pest control, and climate regulation which support agriculture and tourism. Restoring natural landscapes and preserving biodiversity can create jobs, stimulate economies and help address climate change. Biodiversity provides clean air, fresh water and green spaces which are critical to human well-being.

Big Green

Planet Heritage Foundation has supported Big Green, a non profit founded by Kimbal Musk which BELIEVES that GROWING FOOD CHANGES LIVES, improves nutrition security and mental health, gets us into nature, and opens our eyes to the weather volatility created by climate change. For twelve years, Big Green has helped people grow their own food with school and home-based programs. Big Green brings hundreds of thousands of gardens to life in schools, homes, and communities each year.
